Cute book & love that we now have these "cheaper" stories on eBook format! Not interactive but still a cute story.
Both of our girls (ages 3 and 6) are big fans of Doc McStuffins. We have all of the episodes on our DVR and lots of the toys. It is a fun show about a girl who is a doctor for toys and brings them to life with her stethoscope. It teaches children about the medical profession in a kid friendly way. We pre-ordered and received this book today on its release date and read it tonight for their bedtime story. My girls really enjoyed it.The story is great and follows along with one of the TV Episodes. The story is about Donny's teddy bear named Teddy B. Teddy B hasn't been around for a while and Donny is excited when Doc finds him in a closet. Unfortunately, Donny starts sneezing after giving Teddy B a big hug. Doc takes Teddy B for a checkup and figures out the problem. Teddy B has a case of the Dusty-Musties. Luckily, Doc has a solution which is for Teddy B to take a spin in the washing machine. He is scared, but Stuffy and Lambie go along for the ride to make him feel better. As expected, there was a happy ending and some tips about dealing with allergies on the inside back cover.I asked both girls what they thought of the story and they loved it. My oldest's favorite part was "when everyone went into the washing machine" and my youngest's favorite part was "when Doc's Mom had to go get more soap for the washing machine." They really get a kick out of the books that follow along with the TV episodes. My kids seem to be drawn to them because they are immediately familiar and comfortable with the story and they like to tell me what is going to happen next. This is a great pre-reader for your Doc McStuffins fan. Highly Recommended!
I bought two of these-- one as a gift and one for my daughter. I wasn't sure what the "pre-1" level meant, but figured it just meant that it was a regular picture book for adults to read to their kids-- which it is, except that it also has little pictures in the text instead of the words "Doc," "Circle," "Louie," and a few others... you're supposed to point to those and let the child call out those words.This is based on an episode that I haven't seen, but is about a toy cell phone Doc used to play with when she was little, and there's a sticker stuck on its "up" volume, leading to "Superlouditis." It's a fun book to read because of the loud lines. Kiddo and I got some giggles out of yelling the dialogue.The storyline at the end gets just a little weird, though, and probably works better in the TV episode. After the volume is fixed, Louie talks at a normal level for one line, then he talks loudly again, and they play a game of Telephone to fix him. He sums up the lesson at the end: "Save your shout for when you're out!" (Which is supposed to be whispered, and yet is written with an exclamation point.) I didn't quite get the logic train on it... if he was broken, he couldn't help that he wasn't using his "indoor voice," and it doesn't explain why he talked loudly again after he was fixed, nor does anyone really explain to him about the "outdoor voice/indoor voice" thing before he suddenly sums up the lesson for us.So all in all, a fun book, cute to read with little kids, and not a bad message-- just one that arrives in an odd fashion at the end and could have used a smoother transition.

Her original diagnosis was that the volume up button was stuck by a sticker, but once fixed, Loud Louie was still loud. She had to teach Loud Louie about using his inside voice, which most kids need to learn. As expected, there was a happy ending and some tips on using your inside voice on the inside back cover.We read it as a bedtime story and she immediately wanted to flip through it on her own again after we were done. This was great and the exact reason we like to get books based on familiar TV episodes. Our kids seem to be drawn to them because they are immediately familiar and comfortable with the story. This is a great pre-reader for your Doc McStuffins fan. Highly Recommended!
The Pre-Level 1 books have been great to help teach my 4 year old the style of reading. There are pictures in place of words placed sporadically throughout so she gets to "help" me read the story. It's helped teach her how to read the pages and not guess what's going on based on the pictures. It's been a great first step for reading for her and she loves them. It helps too that they have a bunch of these books with the Disney Junior characters which make them extra fun!
We had another Doc McStuffins pre-1 level book that we love (Brave Dragon) so thought it would be great to order a couple more. This one and All Stuffed Up are not great. There are WAY more words on each page (not really a pre-1 level) and then pictures in place of certain words, which I find more annoying than anything when trying to read it to my daughter (she's 2).
The book is great but my reading grandchildren can not read this book as the picture words do not line up with the written words making it difficult to read.
My granddaughters love Doc, great book for early reader. Makes my granddaughter feel she can read by herself.
Bought this eBook, plus a few other "World of Reading" titles - and sad to say I'm very disappointed by the poor quality of the Kindle edition.The pictures and images are clearly cropped, not formatted properly to fit properly on the screen. When compared with the print copy, the Kindle edition shows only half a page, or parts of another page. There are even pages with white text on white background.At the very least, I expected a properly formatted book.
