This is a great birthday book for a little child. We bought it for a one year old and read it to her that day. She listened and since then has enjoyed it again and again. I don't think you can introduce books too early to a little one. Can you not guess that I am a retired librarian? I love Dr. Seuss and have seen several children learn to read with his books. This is one of my favorites.
As much as I want to love this book, it’s not constructed for a baby. My one year old ripped one of the flaps off the first time through. It’s made to be interactive, but if your little one is enthusiastic about touching books, this may not be the best choice.
I used this for people to sign in for my sons first birthday party “guest bookâ€. It is so cute and has a sensory aspect on each page (for on one page, shiny paper on another). Loved it! Great buy!
I did like this book but I wouldn't recommend it for a baby or toddler. My grandson is one and loves books with flaps but he was not as interested in the pictures in this book. It was not easy for him to do the moving parts of the pages. I think he will like it when he is a little older.
This Dr. Seuss touch and feel book is adorable! The story is cute, photos are colorful and each page has a different feature that allows baby to explore their senses. For example, one page is hairy and one page has a pull tab to fly a bird across the page. My only complaint is the cover and backing of the book aren't hard. So every thing that touches or scratches up against it, leaves a mark. I would certainly buy again for the cuteness of the story, just maybe next time will look for a board book instead.
All the kids loved this book at the birthday. There is a lot to play with in the book. Very cute! Nice hardback!
Great gift for a one year old birthday, although some of the pages a child that age needs help figuring out what to do and not as sturdy as a traditional board book. My one year old baby was very happy with this! Will definitely be buying more as a backup gift for others.
My son loves reading Dr. Seuss books with my husband and me. We bought him this for his first birthday. He loves it so much and I love that it has so many sensory object lessons. My son loves feeling the fluffy tail and smelling the pepperoni pizza. There is one part that has a little tab to slide something across the book and it kind of gets stuck in the middle, but it works well enough.
